Urban and Regional Planning (URP) is a peer-reviewed and open access journal that provides an international forum for researchers, scholars and practitioners of urban and regional planning to share experiences and communicate ideas. It is to publish refereed, well-written original research articles that describe the latest research and developments in the area of urban and regional planning. This book seeks to address the lack of a strategic and optimistic embrace of regional planning by focusing on U.S. practice and the ways that it can help to advance sustainability and quality of life. We believe that regional planning is not optional and that, like it or not, no local planning .
